Description of St. Agatha, Patron Saint of Breast Cancer

This 9″x12″ is the artist’s rendition of St. Agatha, Patron Saint of Breast Cancer who was martyred 250 c. Sicily, during the persecution of Christians. Young, rich, and beautiful, she refused to marry a pagan and was forced into prostitution. Still refusing to accept customers and rejecting the pagan, she was martyred. Her breasts were cut off and she was rolled naked on live coals.
