The Film Director

A college painting class during the 1980s inspired this abstract-realism oil painting. The assignment was to paint a collage of images with a theme. My theme was protecting the child from smut and obscenity. In the upper left corner is the film director pointing at his actors. The purple haired lady protects the child below with a stream of water extinguishing the director’s cigar. The red umbrella protects the child from viewing the actors above.
